Popups are another way to display information without the need of creating a separate page. The result is a smaller page pops up with further information over the top of the current page.
They can be used to show more detailed product information, display a current offer or invite a quick contact via a Contact Form..
Below is an example of using a popup to invite contact from potential customers all from a button on the front page graphic. Go ahead and click on the Make Contact button. (don’t fill in nothing will get sent 🙂 )
A caring nurturing environment for your child
Or provide that greater detail. Below is an example of a Dutch Barn sold by an online garden building company. They have added an image to the top of a price table but only included a few key selling points to the features list to prevent the table becoming too long. But to the button they have added a popup to display the additional specification without the need for separate pages or PDF download
So far the Pop Ups have appeared with a black background but this can also be adjusted for required effect, from no change (keep existing) or use a different colour or even add some opacity. Click on the Camera icon below to see the background image remain but change colour with added transparency.
Take a walk on the wild side
Or have a solid colour, even match with the colour of the Pop Up and make the most of a box shadow. Click on Make Contact below to see example.
And choose from many animation effects to transform how the Pop Up appears on the page. Click the “Reach Out” button below to see an example effect
And the animation effects can also be added to the Pop Up exit as well. Click the “August Offer” below to see an exit animation when you click the exit X.
If you have a promotion or offer on then advertise this immediately as your home page or eCommerce page loads. Point your visitors to where you want and add a button to make it even easier to direct them to the relevant page. This differs from the popups discussed above as they are automated as the page loads and not on click.
The popups can also be set up to load upon specific instances such as the number of times a visitor hits a specific page.
In the example, flower shop Lush Fauna have a special offer on during December just for those special Christmas Weddings. We an see the Pop Up appear on their home page with a button to direct the visitor to the bouquets page.
But if the same pop up keeps appearing every time a visitor arrives at that page it could become annoying. So add a Button to allow the visitor to choose not to see it again
An other option for the popup is to only appear automatically after the visitor lands on a page for a predetermined number of times.
Below Lottie has set a pop up to appear after 3 visits to a page. So if any visitor has consistently gone back to the page then to help any indecision the popup appears on the 3rd page load and offers up a promotion to help encourage the visitor.
